A DERECT site off one of Derby's busiest roads could soon be transformed, planning documents have revealed.

Vulcan Park, next to Osmaston Road, was home to one of the oldest chain manufacturers in the world - Ewart Chain Ltd - which had been based in Derby since 1880.
The site, which underwent numerous phases of expansion during its 141-year operational history, contributed to the widening of the Osmaston Road corridor and helped establish it as an area strongly associated with manufacturing, railway engineering and foundry operations throughout Derby's industrial development.
