'Frustration' as Maddy's inquest is pushed back

FAMILY WAS SENT A 699-PAGE REPORT TO STUDY A WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS - THE ADJOURNMENT WILL ALLOW THEM TIME TO TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN PROCEEDINGS
THE family of former Sheffield United player Maddy Cusack have said they are “incredibly frustrated” after the inquest into her death was pushed back another six months.
The death of Madeleine Cusack, who was pronounced dead at her home in Derbyshire aged 27 in September 2023, was treated as non-suspicious, and an inquest into her death was originally set to begin in April 2025.
Another pre-inquest hearing was held yesterday at Chesterfield’s Coroner’s Court, and the date of the inquest has now been pushed back for a second time to late June 2026.
Maddy’s parents, sister and brother were in attendance at the pre-inquest review, as well as ex-Sheffield United manager Jonathan Morgan, who joined via video link, as well as representatives of the Football Association and Sheffield United.
Morgan was the subject of a written complaint issued by Maddy’s family to Sheffield United on September 20, 2023, a week after her death.
The complaint outlined a range of issues she had been facing, which they said all stemmed from her relationship with Morgan.

A drink for all occasions and the perfect place to show to friends on a first visit to city
