FREE BULKY WASTE COLLECTION PLANS MOVE ONE STEP CLOSER IN BID TO CLEAN UP THE CITY

FREE bulky waste collection days for all Derby suburbs are one step closer to reality.

Plans for the service's return are progressing, but the cost of the council-run paid service to collect big household items is set to significantly increase.

Earlier this year, Derby City Council's Labour administration announced plans to bring back free bulky waste collection days.

Bulky waste items are those deemed to be large household items that cannot fit in a normal bin, such as sofas, mattresses or fridges.
