A SOUTH Derbyshire school went all out to celebrate one of its most famous alumni - Roald Dahl.

- By JOSEPH RICHARDS

Pupils at Repton School stepped into the pages of their favourite books to celebrate Roald Dahl Day.

They dressed up as some of the author's most beloved characters and there were Roald Dahl-themed games, including a Matilda-themed escape room in the library, a Bogtrotter-style chocolate muffin challenge and even a game of 'pin the ear on the BFG.

There was even a popup version of Repton School's tuck shop 'The Grubber' which is featured in 'The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, serving up special treats in the school grounds for the day.

Six-year-old Amelia dressed up as the formidable Mrs Trunchbull from Matilda.
