Bereaved mum has turned knife murder of son into project of hope for young

Jamie Simpson, originally from Derby, was stabbed to death while working as a manager in Matalan in east London in 2008, when a group of men targeted the shop.

One of the men was armed with a knife and, whilst defending the shop, Jamie was stabbed.

He died shortly afterwards, and the group of men involved were handed prison sentences.

Mum Lorna said the physical effects on her loss were clear to see.

She said: “When you lose someone you love dearly, your body goes through a tremendous amount of trauma.”

In Jamie's memory, Lorna set up Forward Vision, a 12-session programme covering a variety of different topics and skills - which launched in June.
