A BRAVE meisie has helped convict the man who raped her as a three-year-old.
This week, Ian Hoggins, 55, was sentenced to an effective life imprisonment by the Thembalethu Regional Court in George following a harrowing case of child rape and sexual assault.
The case carries huge significance as the victim, a young girl who was only three years old at the time, is the youngest person in South Africa to ever successfully testify in her own rape case.
