International nuclear watchdog chief warns that conflicts may lead to global levels of destruction

THE chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has warned that the Israel-Iran war could lead to the multiplication of nuclear weapons around the globe.
Following USA's attack on nuclear sites in Iran on Sunday, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said that the three member nations must return to the negotiating table or risk “unimaginable levels” of destruction.
At an emergency meeting of the United Nations agency yesterday, Grossi said: “The weight of this conflict risks collapsing the non-profileration regime. But there is still a path for diplomacy. We must take it.
