A HEARTBROKEN Grassy Park ouma is demanding answers after her 14-year-old daughter died just weeks after giving birth, allegedly from an infection that spread through her body following delivery.
Yvonne Mbina, from Phumlani Village, told the Daily Voice that her daughter, Sibahle Mbina, had given natural birth to her child on 11 January at the Midwife Obstetrics Unit (MOU) of the Retreat Day Hospital and was discharged the same day.
She explained: “After she was discharged, she was always complaining about her hip. A few days after being discharged, she went back to the Retreat for a checkup.
“After that, she walked back home, and one Sunday, she was complaining, saying that she was in a lot of pain, and she went back to Retreat.
