Heartbroken family of Jody Windvogel speak out after horrific backyard discovery

THE heartbroken family of Jody Windvogel, 9, are left with hoekoms and waaroms after the boy took his own life on Sunday in a second suicide attempt.

The Grade 3 learner from Delft North Primary School hung himself in the backyard at his home in The Hague Avenue, Delft, and was found by his brother on his knees with a rope around his neck.

The boy’s mother, Judith Windvogel, said that she was busy cooking and doing the washing when her world fell apart. Windvogel explained: “I was at home busy with my food. Jody ran out and I thought he was going to play with his duif because he loves birds and will wait until I dish the food.
