Slot pays tribute to 'dearly loveď Jota after death at 28
ARNE SLOT led the tributes after the football world was left in mourning following the death of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota in a car crash.
Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, died in northern Spain when the Lamborghini they were travelling in left the road and burst into flames.
The pair were said to be driving to Santander to catch a ferry to the UK as Diogo, 28, was advised not to fly after lung surgery.
In a statement, Reds boss Slot (inset) said: "What to say? What can anyone say at a time like this when the shock and pain is so incredibly raw?
"I wish I had the words but I know I do not. All I have are feelings that I know so many people will share about a person and a player we loved dearly and a family we care so much about.
"My first thoughts are not those of a football manager. They are of a father, a son, a brother and an uncle and they belong to the family of Diogo and Andre Silva who have experienced such an unimaginable loss.
