Gomes tipped to shine in Carsley's new England era
ANGEL GOMES has been tipped to take flight with England this week.
The Lille midfielder was handed his first senior call-up by Lee Carsley after winning the Under-21 Euros under him last year.
And Chelsea and England defender Levi Colwill believes Gomes will make a big impact and push hard to become a regular. Colwill (inset) said: “I wasn’t surprised by his call-up.
“I played with him in the Under-21s and he is an amazing player. Technically he’s a joke and I really enjoy playing with him. He will keep pushing to get into the England team.”
Gomes, 24, could make his first England start against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin this Saturday.
