Leopards hero pounces to end hoodoo at Saints

TWO-TRY Joe Ofahengaue sealed the deal as Leigh ended their wretched 43-year winless run at St Helens.

The big Tonga prop barged over in the 59th minute as Super League’s two form teams collided.

And the former Queensland State of Origin ace plundered his second at the death when Kyle Feldt dropped a kick.

Leigh hadn’t won an away fixture at the Merseyside club since 1982. But, at the 15th attempt, they finally ended that irritating sequence and clinically ended Saints’ five-game winning run.

Third-placed Leopards have now won five of their last six games to open up a three-point gap between them and Saints.
