Villan can get stuck in for card punt
TRUST Morgan Rogers to leave a boot in at Villa Park this lunchtime.
Today's Premier League and Championship matches come with the traditional flip-flops warning for punters, as thoughts naturally turn to sun, sand and sangria.
By my reckoning, of the eight Premier teams in action this afternoon only Aston Villa and Everton can be totally relied on to still have some must-win skin in the game.
Whether the Villans can bounce back from last Saturday’s tepid FA Cup exit at Wembley is another matter.
But European qualification is still on their plate and Fulham’s lunchtime visit (12.30pm) will ask a hard question of their appetite. We'll see.
At least there should be plenty of afters on today’s menu - the last two meetings between the sides produced 15 yellow cards and two reds.
And the sight of Robert Jones on the whistle is a boost for cards angles - the Merseyside referee managed to find 26 yellows and a red in his six games featuring today’s teams this season.
