RUBEN AMORIM has insisted Manchester United will be ready to win the title in the “next few years” after Sir Alex Ferguson claimed it could take more than a decade for them to regain the Premier League crown.

Ferguson compared United's current slump to the 31-year title drought Liverpool suffered and said it could be another cycle or two before his former club are ready to win the league.
The 83-year-old Scot (inset) won 13 Premier League titles in his trophy-strewn era at Old Trafford, but feels it could be a while before they are at the top of the tree again domestically.
"He [Amorim] is a good personality," said Ferguson in an interview with Press Box PR. "It is not easy. I remember looking back on my own time there, starting off when Liverpool were the bee's knees.
"They were a fantastic club, winning the European Cup four times and all that, but then it took them 31 years to win the league again. We are now in the same situation.
