THEATRE bosses have slapped trigger warnings on pantos for things like their “cheeky jokes” and “audience participation”.

The dire messages about the Christmas shows, performed in the UK since 1723, are sweeping the country.

They also warn of “loud sounds” and “flashing lights” and even advise taking a brolly to stay dry during a water fight.

A production of Dick Whittington at Cheltenham Playhouse, Glos, has one of the most detailed content warnings.
