MATZ SELS has handed a vote of confidence to his under-pressure Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou.

The Greek-born Australian is still seeking his first victory after seven games since taking charge at the City Ground.

Even before Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Newcastle, he had endured the worst start of any permanent Forest manager for a century.

It was an improved performance by the visitors at St James’ Park as a pragmatic approach resulted in them looking more defensively organised.

But they still left empty-handed and sit one point above the relegation zone.
