ASHES royalty Ashley Giles is the ‘King of Spain’ who scored the winning runs in the greatest Test series of all time.

Souvenir mugs (inset) in the Warwickshire club shop were supposed to acclaim his left-arm twirl as the ‘King of Spin’ but a glorious misprint turned him into memorabilia gold.

Twenty years ago this week, Giles turned away Shane Warne’s fizzing leg-break at Trent Bridge to seal a three-wicket win against Australia and put England 2-1 up in the Ashes. With victory secured, Giles strode off with Matthew Hoggard and said: “Tonight, Hog, we are kings”

And every time he took a sip from his eponymous mug, he was reminded of his unique place in Ashes history.
