THE Cheltenham Festival is here and I can't wait for racing to get under way. The Arkle is going to be especially interesting because the pace will play a crucial part in how this race develops. In last year's race, Jango Baie approached the first four fences at a rapid 32mph, and when El Fabiolo won on soft ground in 2023 he averaged 31.2mph into the first four. Even Gaelic Warrior clocked an average of 30mph in 2024 on soft ground.
