Cool-hand Luk grabs Tarkowski gift
LUKAS NMECHA’S 84th-minute penalty gave Leeds a dream start to life back in the Premier League.
The former Wolfsburg striker had been on the pitch for less than 10 minutes but coolly drilled his spot-kick into the corner of the net after James Tarkowski handled.
Anton Stach’s shot ricocheted off Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and struck the Everton defender on the arm and despite Jordan Pickford diving the right way, the penalty found the net.
Everton boss David Moyes remonstrated with referee Chris Kavanagh after the final whistle, but the win was no more than Leeds deserved after dominating against the visitors who struggled to rouse themselves even with the introduction of debutant Jack Grealish for the last 20 minutes.
