Mcllorum's 'crazy' comeback

COMEBACK king Micky Mcllorum revealed his surgeon thought he had no chance of playing at Wembley - and others labelled him “stupid, crazy” for even trying.

But after remarkably returning from a ruptured bicep FIVE weeks early, the Hull KR hooker can look at his fourth Challenge Cup winner's medal with a know-ing smile this morning.

Tom Davies' controversial 78th minute try - improved by ice-cool Mikey Lewis' touchline conversion - delivered the Robins their first major piece of silverware in 40 years. However, there were so many moving parts to it all as the Super League leaders overcame their worst display of the season to leave Sam Burgess' Warrington heart-broken at Wembley for a second year in a row.

Veteran Mcllorum - who KR brought in from Catalans this season to help turn them from nearly-men into winners-wasn't even involved in Friday's Captain's Run at Wembley.
