CHRISTMAS may be over but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.

Betwixtmas is the perfect time to relax, enjoy leftovers and spend quality time with your furry friend. And why not show them how much you care with some homemade treats and toys?

Here Star Paws Columnist CATHERINE LAMB shares some fun recipes and activities to do with your canine companion...

BARK-CUTERIE BOARD

Use up your leftovers by creating an amazing charcuterie board for your pooch. This recipe from Dog's Trust is ideal for a cosy night in together...

• Slice boiled turkey, carrots, apple, half a red pepper and half a green pepper into bite-sized pieces for your pooch.

• Fill a small dish with xylitol-free peanut butter and place on a serving board along with the sliced snacks and some of your dog's favourite treats.

OAT BISCUITS

These warm and zingy blueberry bites from Dog’s Trust are easy to make and sure to get your dog's tail wagging...

• Preheat your oven to 175C.

• Mix a mashed banana, 100g oats and 40g chopped blueberries together in a bowl. Add splashes of water until the mixture combines into one large ball.

• Roll out the mixture until it is 2cm thick and cut into shapes using a cookie cutter.

• Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes.

PUPCAKES

Get into the party spirit with these fabulous cupcakes from Blue Cross...

• Preheat your oven to 170C and line a mini-muffin tray with cupcake cases.
