THERE is a strong case for saying Ted Lasso is the American to have made the biggest impact on English football.

Ask someone in the street if they have heard of Roy Wegerle, Claudio Reyna or Oguchi Onyewu and they are unlikely to muster much of a response.

But the AFC Richmond boss has a legion of fans on this side of the pond thanks to his starring role in the fictional Apple TV show that takes his name.

And when you consider that there are almost 350m Americans in this world and the Premier League is now a global brand, that is a staggering state of affairs.

The actual answer is probably Ohio's own Brad Friedel - a serial record breaker.

He remains the oldest first-team player for both Tottenham and Aston Villa and his staggering run of 310 consecutive Premier League appearances between 2004 and 2012 has yet to be surpassed.
