Players block Ole return as Carrick nears United job

MANCHESTER UNITED have turned to Michael Carrick as interim manager after some senior stars REJECTED the return of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Carrick will take charge until the end of the season in his second stint at the helm.

Solskjaer had been favourite to replace Ruben Amorim and was interviewed twice.

But he was sensationally ruled out of the running when a number of players went to club bosses and told them they didn’t want him back.
