THAT Harry Maguire decided to go public and announce his 'shock' at being omitted from the England squad probably tells you why Thomas Tuchel is not taking him to the World Cup.

Maguire has had a few decent games for Manchester United and thinks he should be a shoo-in for the national team.

How many of those omitted who feel they should be in the squad are going to make statements that basically lambast Tuchel's decision? None.

And others - such as Phil Foden and Cole Palmer - would have more justification than Maguire to voice their anger.
