PEP GUARDIOLA is banking on his captain marvel tomorrow night to help fire Manchester City to an automatic place in the Champions League last 16.

Bernardo Silva missed last week's Norwegian nightmare as City slumped to a shock 3-1 defeat on the road against Bodo/Glimt.

That left them in 11th place in the Champions League table, alongside seven others also on 13 points.

It will mean a frantic scramble across Europe as teams try to claim one of the eight automatic last-16 places and avoid a two-legged playoff.

And the Blues boss knows that welcoming back Silva against Galatasaray - a side including City old boys Ikay Gundogan and Leroy Sane ~ at the Etihad is not only good for the team’s chances but also for Guardiola’s own well-being,
