MARCUS SMITH has been dumped from’ England’s starting line-up for Sunday’s Six Nations clash with Italy.

Boss Steve Borthwick has wielded the axe, making three changes to the XV including demoting Smith to the bench, along with hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie and omitting centre Henry Slade entirely.

Elliot Daly will start at full-back in-stead of Smith with hooker and for-mer captain Jamie George, who will win his 100th England cap, also pro-moted from the bench.
