Fruit fans eat entire apple.. pips 'n' all

BRITS love scoffing all of their apple - including the core and pips.

A poll of 2,000 people by Tesco found around one in 10 leave nothing to waste.

The research showed that 11% of men admitted consuming the whole apple, compared to 7% of women.

Most health experts say eating the entire fruit is "generally safe", but warn there is cyanide in the pips, which is released when they are chewed.
