Hero Waine sinks Black Cats with Shear class

NEWCASTLE fan Ben Waine sent Sunderland crashing out of the FA Cup and admitted it was beyond his wildest dreams.

The Port Vale ace netted the winner in the biggest upset of the fifth round and copied Tyneside great Alan Shearer's trademark goal celebration. Waine was born in New Zealand, but his mum is a Geordie and he enjoyed delivering the knockout blow to Newcastle's biggest rivals.

The forward said: "It doesn’t get better than that. That was something I have never even dreamed of. My family will be happy!

"It's unbelievable. I have never seen it like this. We dug in so hard, I think we deserved it. We stuck to the game plan it's as simple as that.
