SIMON Cowell said he was "devastated" and "heartbroken" by Liam Payne's tragic death-telling the One Direction star: "Every tear I have shed is a memory of you." The X Factor guru, who put the boy band together on the show in 2010, said he felt "empty" after Liam, 31, plunged 40ft from a hotel balcony on Wednesday following a suspected booze and drugs bender.
