Cooper will get tough to tackle crisis

YVETTE Cooper has vowed that the Government's "stop the boats" deal with France will start "this month".

The Home Secretary said the first returns of migrants who arrive illegally will begin in September.

The announcement follows a wave of protests over the small boats crisis, inset, and migrants being housed in hotels. She told the Commons: "In August, I signed the new treaty with France. We expect the first returns to begin later this month."
