United boss has a lot of time for Kobbie

MICHAEL CARRICK insists what Kobbie Mainoo has already achieved in his blossoming career is nothing short of incredible.

And the Manchester United interim head coach admitted it is easy to forget Mainoo is still just 20 years old, given the quality of his performances.

Carrick's return to United has coincided with a return to action and form for Mainoo, after the midfielder found himself frozen out under previous boss Ruben Amorim.

The lack of action ahead of the January transfer window led to Mainoo being linked with a move away. However, the change in management early last month has drastically altered his situation.

Mainoo has played 90 minutes of every Premier League game since the arrival of Carrick as interim boss, providing assists in wins against Arsenal and Tottenham.
