‘The Asp’ (left) has endured two years of elbow injury nightmare and ‘dartitis’ - the oche’s dreaded equivalent of golf’s yips on the putting green.

But his 8-4 win against Ryan Joyce in the European Darts Trophy final on Sunday in Gottingen, Germany, was his best show since winning the World Matchplay in 2023.
