SOUTHWELL SAVES RACING FROM UNWELCOME DAY OFF

SOUTHWELL comes to punters’ rescue with nine all-weather races today, after the cold snap claimed British fixtures at Chepstow and Plumpton - and the Naas card in Ireland.

The cancellations arrived on the back of lost jumps meetings at Newcastle and Wincanton yesterday - the latter after three inspections - while checks have also been called ahead of tomorrow's turf action at Ludlow (10am) and Lingfield Park (noon).
