O'BRIENS TO TRIUMPH

AN impressive winner of the Grade Two EBF Mares' Novice Hurdle at Newbury a year ago, connections of SIOG GEAL (3.55) have now set their sights on the Mares' Challenger series with her qualification race at Chepstow this afternoon.
The Good Stock Syndicate opted out of running her in the Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in favour of this comparatively easier route, and with Fern O'Brien taking 5lb off her Dad's charge, she is only 5lb higher than for that Berkshire win.
The recent rain is a huge boost to her chance and I fancy the seven-year-old can take another step forward.
