HARRY POTTER author JK Rowling paid a cool £47.5million to the taxman last year.

The bill was one of the highest paid in Britain last year as royalties continue to pour in from the smash-hit books and films.

JK was 36th on the annual Sunday Times Tax List, with Ed Sheeran in 64th place with a £19.9m payment.
