TV show Horrible Science is set to burst onto our screens this week, packed with fabulously fascinating facts.

Featuring guest appearances from celebs like First Dates star Fred Siriex, Gladiator Steel and Judge Rinder, the CBBC series is from the team behind Horrible Histories.

It will shine a light on famous scientists including Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein.

As a curtain-raiser, reveals a dozen nutty nuggets about some of history's brainiest boffins...

Sir Isaac Newton is best known for his work on gravity. He also put needles in his eyes to investigate how it affected the perception of colour and tried to turn lead into gold... is it any surprise he died a virgin?
