RYAN MOORE pulled off 'Plan Z' as Derby flop Delacroix swooped a lastgasp verdict over favourite Ombudsman in the 50th running of the CoralEclipse Stakes at Sandown Park.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt carried punters' hopes as the 2-1 market leader at Epsom but a rough passage saw Dubawi's son trail in ninth of 18 behind stablemate Lambourn.

Delacroix, Moore's choice over fellow Ballydoyle challenger and Prix du Jockey Club hero Camille Pissarro, could be backed at 5-1 to recoup his followers' losses yesterday morning - odds that had contracted to 3-1 by the time of the 'off! With a quarter mile of the 10-furlong clash of the generations to run, Moore's mount again looked a lost cause, robbed of poise and momentum by a stumble when a bid to make ground took him down another blind alley.
