THE Mayor of Liverpool City Region has told of his 36 years of torment over a Hillsborough disaster ticket swap that "saved my life".
Steve Rotheram agreed to the exchange 15 minutes before the start of his team's FA Cup semifinal against Nottingham Forest.
It meant he escaped the crush that killed 97 Liverpool fans in the Leppings Lane End of the Sheffield stadium on April 15, 1989.
