It's my Labour party.. and I'll cry if I want to

July 06, 2025

SO then, happy birthday, Labour!

It's my Labour party.. and I'll cry if I want to

Keir Starmer's government has just turned one year old - bless its cotton socks - but I doubt there’s been much partying in Downing Street. (For one thing, I hear Boris took the wine fridge with him when he left.)

It's always sad to see what should be a happy occasion turn into a bitter, tear-strewn mess, and the anniversary of Starmer’s victory ended up being about as much joy as a Christmas episode of EastEnders.

What's going to stick in everyone's minds is the sight of Chancellor Rachel Reeves crying her eyes out during Prime Minister's Questions. It’s an indelible image that spooked the markets and sent the media into a frenzy.

I don’t know why Reeves broke down, and I do hope she’s OK. But you know what? Fair play to her.
