doubt that it’s a beautiful, classy hotel with a range of rooms fitting for different tastes and budgets.

It would suit couples of all ages, thanks to its easygoing atmosphere and focus on wellness.

There’s a proper sense of reconnecting with nature, and feels a world away from the island's banging nightclubs. It’s a real five-star hotel experience.

Food and drink

As a vegetarian, I was a little concerned that my choices would be limited but the staff were beyond accommodating and there were plenty of options to suit me.

In fact, I will be dreaming about the breakfast options from Cala San Miguel's Na Joaneta for a very long time to come.

I had shuddered at the thought of a breakfast buffet, picturing stale breads and tired, sad fruit that’s seen better days — but it was exactly the opposite and a dream start to the day.

I was greeted with a colourful feast for the senses — there were chefs on hand to make hot options such as eggs and waffles, and an abundance of cheeses, fresh fruit and pastries on display in the centre of the stylish room, which overlooks the main pool area and nearby beach.
