With missing stars, draw is not bad result

JIM GOODWIN insists injury-jinxed Dundee United's draw with Falkirk can go down as a triumph over adversity.
The United boss was content with a share of the spoils in the Premiership curtain-raiser against the Bairns after missing a host of first-team stars and being forced to flood his bench with academy kids.
Ross Graham, Ryan Strain, Dario Nammo, Amar Fatah, Kristijan Trapanovski and Jort van der Sande were all unavailable while Will Ferry was suspended for the trip to Grangemouth and Goodwin hailed his side for playing their part in a thriller despite being short of numbers.
He said: “I really am proud of the players. It’s really strange to be sitting here on the opening day and talking about the number of injuries we have. But there's no getting away from it and there’s no excuses here.
“We’re missing some real key players. Our captain and vice-captain, Ross Graham and Will Ferry.
