Tearful mother of young dad Jordan joins call for more information

- BY SALLY HIND

THE heartbroken family of shotgun murder victim Jordan Gray yesterday begged the public to reveal who killed him “in cold blood”.

Jordan, 26, was shot dead at his tower block home in Shields Court, Muirhouse, Motherwell, on December 14.

The new dad's body was discovered the next day and a murder investigation, Operation Arvia, launched.

Detectives believe the answers over the killing lie within the community.

Yesterday, five weeks on, Jordan's mum Lynn Gray made an emotional appeal for information alongside his stepdad Michael Groome.

Lynn wiped away tears as Michael told a press conference: “We are here today to appeal for any information leading to finding out who murdered our son in cold blood.

“The outpouring of love we have had since Jordan's death is testament to the fact that he was a well liked young man and yet someone stole him from us.

“We are devastated by our loss. His sisters and wee brother are struggling to understand how someone could do this to their big brother.

“Jordan's baby will have to grow up without knowing how much his dad loved him.

“We would like to thank police for their continued support and would call for anyone who knows anything about what happened to Jordan, no matter how small, that you come forward and speak to police.
