Warrior Jack will maintain ferocity to make sure capital foes remain firmly on the rack

JACK DEMPSEY hopes Glasgow can continue to be the big brother in the Scottish rugby family.

Warriors take on Edinburgh at Hampden on Saturday in the first leg of the 1872 Cup.

Franco Smith's men have been the nation's dominant team for the last few years, winning the URC and reaching a European final.

And Dempsey reckons they need to show that against the Gunners over the next two weekends. The Scotland back-rower said: "There is that level of ferociousness and hatred about this rivalry definitely in the physicality of it all.

"It's not personal but you make it personal in the 80 minutes you're on the field.
