Trainspotting star & wife laugh all the way to bank despite £1.5m price drop

The Trainspotting star and his actor wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead put their luxury US property in LA's Topanga Canyon on the market for £6.5million earlier this year.

They later dropped the price and it has now been sold for £5million.

McGregor - who played Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars - and his wife still made a healthy profit on the property, which was featured in his Long Way Home TV series, after buying it for £2million in 2018. The property is set in 29 acres of land and boasts a modern three-bedroom home with four bathrooms. It also has a detached gym, swimming pool, two guest cottages and a large garage where McGregor kept his car and motorcycle collection.
