TRAGIC TEEN JAIL BANS BUNK BEDS

BUNK beds will be removed from prison cells as part of a raft of change following the deaths of two young people in custody.

Katie Allan and William Lindsay took their own lives while behind bars at Polmony Young Offenders Institute near Falkirk.

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) said yesterday it accepted all of the recommendations made in a sheriff's determination in full, following a fatal accident inquiry into their deaths.

They said there will be "an overhaul" of the body's suicide prevention policy, Talk To Me.
