Animal rescuers feel 'let down' union says

SCOTTISH SPCA staff are to vote on strike action over pay and feel "utterly let down" by management, a union says.

Union chiefs say about 140 members employed by the animal charity are being balloted. They include its vets, animal rescue workers and inspectors who deal with neglect and enforce entry to rescue animals, along with helpline workers who deal with calls from the public.

The 2025 offer amounts to 1.6 per cent with some members having their pay frozen.
