Teen star admits he was fed up with people teling him where he was going wrong: I was thinking, 'Shut up, I'm going to change it myself'
-
IF there was one thing Mikey Moore didn't want to hear, it was people telling him where he was going wrong and what he had to do better to make the grade at Rangers.
Not when the on-loan Spurs kid had already held that honest conversation with himself.
The 18-year-old certainly didn't need anyone spelling out that his early displays under previous boss Russell Martin were nowhere near the standard required at Ibrox.
But that's not to say he didn't appreciate the words of encouragement new boss Danny Rohl has had to offer since he arrived seven weeks ago. In fact, there's something to be said about the combination of Moore's own awareness of his shortcomings along with some confidence-boosting sit downs with the German gaffer.
And that approach has finally led to the highly-rated Londoner producing the kind of displays that had Martin so excited when he secured his signature in the first place.
It was at Easter Road towards the end of October that Moore rediscovered the form that led to his breakthrough year with Tottenham last term.
Now as he prepares to face Hibs once again, Moore reveals he's happy to be finally doing his talking on the pitch.
Reflecting on that Leith clash against David Gray's side, the England Under-19 ace said: "I think the Hibs game was the start of me getting a bit of a run in the team.
