ITV in £1.6bn talks to sell channels to rival

ITV is in talks to sell its telly channels to rival Sky in a potential £1.6billion deal.

The Coronation Street and Love Island broadcaster yesterday confirmed that it was in early talks with US giant Comcast, the owner of Sky.

The possible sale covers ITV's terrestrial TV channels and streaming service ITVX.

There had been speculation that it would also include the production arm ITV Studios, which makes shows including I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and the popular drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

But it is not currently thought to be part of the deal.
