REMOVED OVER MORTON FRIENDSHIP

A LABOUR MSP has been suspended over her ties to a prolific paedophile.

Pam Duncan-Glancy has had the whip removed over her continued friendship with vile sex offender Sean Morton.

It comes hours after Lord Matthew Doyle, Keir Starmer’s former spin doctor in Downing Street, was suspended over his ties to Morton.

Morton was a Labour councillor in Moray when he confessed in 2017 to possessing indecent pictures of children and of a couple having sex with a dog.

He was spared jail and given a community payback order which included 140 hours of unpaid work.

The Record revealed in December that Glasgow MSP Duncan-Glancy maintained a close friendship with Morton after he pled guilty.

She quit as Scottish Labour's education spokesperson as a result of the expose and announced she would stand down from Holyrood in May.

It was then revealed Morton had offended again and was jailed in January last year for 16 months over the possession of more indecent images of children.

After his release from prison last year, the MSP again maintained the friendship and went for dinner and drinks with him on her birthday.
