Saints hero Fitzy slams Aberdeen fans moaning about gaffer swoop and insists Dons are LUCKY to get legend like Robbo

Robbo, having previously worked with him at Motherwell. Paisley has been something of a happy hunting ground for Aberdeen. They have previously taken Sir Alex Ferguson from there and Jim Goodwin, although he didn't have nearly the same impact.

Fitzpatrick admitted: "It seems to be a popular place to look for Aberdeen managers. There was Sir Alex Ferguson, Jim Goodwin and now Stephen.

"That is a compliment to our football team and the job it does and the platform that it gives managers."

Robinson's perceived style of play and the fact St Mirren are currently behind Aberdeen in the league are big concerns for the Dons support. Fitzpatrick feels the big issue for the Buddies is now finding a replacement for Robbo.

He claimed: "Stephen will leave as a legend. The supporters also love him.
